Only One Pound was inspired by a conversation overheard on a train - what to do with a book when finished!
Run by volunteers, OOP has clearly defined donation aims and objectives. We have contractual agreements with Water Aid and Sightsavers and all of the £1 fee, from book, cd and dvd sales, will be forwarded to them. We retain the 65p admin charge to cover site expenses and administration costs.
Our fee from Auction sales is 8% - though it will be lower on high value items.
With increasing numbers of OOP members we hope to reduce these fees.
Neither charity has high street shops, so it is a great opportunity for them to broaden their fundraising activities.
Our aim is to build an active online community with the focused aim of raising funds for WaterAid and Sightsavers.
